For Brass Casting we offer a full line of services.  Hydraulic Gravity Die Cast Machines are at the heart of our brass casting equipment.  Although Hydraulic Gravity Die Casting is fairly new to North America, it has been used for many years in Europe.   As a replacement for Green Sand Mold and other casting processes, Hydraulic Gravity Die Casting offers some unique advantages.  The main advantage to Hydraulic Gravity Die Casting, or Permanent Mold Casting as it is often called, is that the secondary operations are reduced.  With sand molding the outside of the component generally has a rough surface after casting.  With the Hydraulic Gravity Die Casting process, steel dies are used to form the outside of the casting.  As the dies or molds are smooth, so is the casting poured and less finishing is required to the surface of the casting.   See "Figure A" below.

Castings from Hydraulic Gravity Die Casting can be near-net as cast.  The high degree of repeatability and accuracy of the machines allows for usage of both sand and steel cores during the casting process.  With this capability, castings previously made by green sand casting can be made with more holes, recesses and thinner cross sections.  See "Figure B" below.  This also means that you are not only making more parts per hour that require less secondary operations, but  you are doing it with less material.

Often other materials can be used for the permanent mold dies.  Beryllium Copper is one replacement material used often, as the permanent mold dies can withstand higher temperatures.  This also means that permanent mold dies made with Beryllium Copper can have a longer work cycle before they must be re-tooled.  An example of what a permanent mold die looks like is shown below in "Figure C".

Along with our equipment for Hydraulic Gravity Die Casting, we offer full support for your process.  Although the major market for this type of equipment has been faucet manufacturing, it is suited to the brass casting industry as a whole.  In our site, you will see our approach to full service.  This is not only for the secondary operation equipment, but for complete plant facilities, layout and support.
